In golden September, the 2026 National Science Popularization Month kicked off as scheduled with the theme “Technology Changes Life, Innovation Wins the Future.” On the afternoon of September 23, a technical exchange meeting themed “Building a ‘Big Science Popularization’ Pattern and Promoting the Transformation of Scientific and Technological Achievements” was held at Ma’anshan Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Park.
Guided by the Ma’anshan Municipal Association for Science and Technology and hosted by the Ma’anshan Municipal Association of Senior Scientists and Technicians, the event assembled experts from major local manufacturers to discuss advanced technology exchange and commercialization of research outcomes, boosting the manufacturing sector through science popularization and industrial upgrading. Ma’anshan Fangyuan Precision Machinery Co., Ltd. was invited to participate.
At the meeting, leaders of the Municipal Association for Science and Technology delivered speeches. They interpreted the work arrangements for National Science Popularization Month, explained the significance of building a citywide "Big Science Popularization" pattern, and emphasized the need to keep channels open for technical science popularization, academic exchange, and achievement transformation.
They also stressed the importance of promoting the dissemination of advanced manufacturing technologies, industry-university-research collaboration, and the application of scientific and technological achievements, thereby empowering the high-quality development of the local high-end equipment manufacturing industry.
During the technical exchange session, five industry experts from fields including rail transit, new materials, intelligent manufacturing and new energy delivered thematic presentations.
Chen Wu, Senior Engineer and Director of the Design Department of our Engineering Technology Research Institute, was invited to give a special science popularization report titled "The Supporting Strength of Basic Transmission Components — Application Scenarios and Technological Breakthroughs of Slewing Bearings."
The report systematically introduced the product characteristics, diverse application scenarios, R&D directions, and technological innovation achievements of slewing bearings. It explained in accessible terms the core value of slewing bearings as key basic mechanical components, and shared the company's practical experience in precision manufacturing process optimization, core technology research, and independent innovation.
It fully demonstrated Fangyuan Precision's technological strength and corporate responsibility in specializing in the manufacturing of high-end precision transmission components, adhering to independent innovation, and supporting industrial upgrading.
